This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect your personal information, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Act 25, fully in force in 2024), Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when you reside in the European Union.

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect your personal information, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Act 25, fully in force in 2024), Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when you reside in the European Union.
3. Information we collect
We only collect the information necessary for our activities. Depending on your interaction with ATAN, we may collect:
Identification information: name, surname, email address, postal address, telephone number.
Transaction information: order history, products viewed, amounts. Payment is processed by our provider (Wix Payments / Stripe); we do not store any credit card numbers.
Communication information: messages sent via our contact form or by email.
Technical information: IP address, device type, pages visited, session duration (via browsing cookies, see section 7).
4. Purposes of the collection
Your information is used for the following purposes, and only for these purposes:
Process and ship your orders.
Sending you transactional emails (confirmation, delivery tracking, invoice).
We will only send you marketing communications if you have expressly consented to this (see our Anti-Spam Policy).
Improve our website, our products and our customer service.
Comply with our legal obligations (bookkeeping, GST/QST, Health Canada).
5. Basis of consent
In accordance with Law 25, your consent is explicit, freely given, informed, and given for specific purposes. You may withdraw it at any time by writing to us at Contact@atelieratan.ca .
6. Communication to third parties
We never sell, rent, or exchange your personal information. We only share it with service providers strictly necessary for our business:
Wix (e-commerce platform) - Website hosting, order management - USA / EU
Wix Payments / Stripe - Payment Processing - United States / Canada
Canada Post - Order Shipping - Canada
Google Analytics - Anonymized Statistics - United States
Newsletter service - (e.g., Wix Email) - Sending marketing emails - United States
Transfers outside Quebec: Some service providers store data outside Quebec. In accordance with section 17 of Bill 25, we have conducted a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) and believe that these transfers offer an equivalent level of protection. The PIA is available upon request.
7. Navigation cookies
Our site uses cookies:
Essential cookies: necessary for the operation of the shopping cart, authentication and payment. They cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies: these measure audience size in aggregate. They are only activated with your consent.
Marketing cookies (Meta Pixel, etc.): only with your explicit consent.
You can manage your preferences via the consent banner displayed on your first visit, or by clearing cookies in your browser settings.
8. Shelf life
We only keep your information for as long as necessary:
Order details: 7 years (Quebec and federal tax obligation).
Customer account data: until your account is deleted.
Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, then purged within 30 days.
Analysis data: maximum 26 months.
9. Your rights
Law 25 and PIPEDA grant you the following rights, which you can exercise by writing to bonjour@atelieratan.ca :
Right of access to your information.
Right of rectification in case of inaccuracy.
Right to deindexing (removal from search results).
Right to data portability in a commonly used, structured technological format.
Right to withdraw consent at any time.
Right to cease broadcasting or to have content removed.
We will respond within a maximum of 30 days of receiving your request.
10. Security
We implement reasonable security measures: TLS/SSL encryption for all transactions, two-factor authentication for our administrative tools, and data access limited to what is strictly necessary. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk of serious harm, we will inform you and notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (Quebec Access to Information Commission) as soon as possible, in accordance with Bill 25.
11. Information on minors
Our website and products are intended for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 14 (the age of consent as defined by Law 25).
12. Plainte
If you feel that we have not adequately responded to your request, you can file a complaint with the Quebec Access to Information Commission:

13. Modifications
We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. The date of the last update is indicated at the top of the document. In the event of a substantial change, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the website.
